Post-operative care and spelling of horses in training is also available and a plan can be tailored to suit your horse’s individual needs.

Derrymore Farm is a small independent farm  where bio security is paramount.  All horses are isolated for 21  days upon arrival  before joining the main herd, paddocks  are rotated regularly  and then grazed with sheep to reduce the worm burden. Grassland management is key to healthy horses and so is  one of the farms highest priorities,  all paddocks are chain harrowed and aerated each spring and are topped regularly during the summer months . Heritage

Tommy the Scotsman Burns was Irish champion jockey in the 1920s and his son TP Burns was combined Champion Jockey on no less  than 3 occasions in the 1950s. T.P’s most famous win was riding Ballymoss to victory in the 1957 Irish Derby. Both men's career were chronicled in the book TP Burns a racing life which was written by Guy St. John Williams. This tradition was continued when TP’s son Tom successfully completed the Irish National Stud course in 1989  and then travelled extensively in Australia and the US  working on some of the world’s leading stud farms.

Derrymore Farm has been operating as a stud farm since 2010 and over that time Tom has built up a steady reputation for providing a personal and quality service to both Irish and international clients. Now your bloodstock can benefit from the knowledge and experience accumulated over four generations.
